Two dynamic young couples came to us with a shared vision: rejuvenate their duplex without losing its historical San Francisco charm. The challenge was to enhance functionality, specifically by expanding from 1.5 to 2.5 bathrooms in each unit without compromising on space. Our solution involved intuitive spatial redesign, maximizing every inch for a seamless addition of the bathrooms and an essential laundry room. While the kitchens underwent a full modernization, we retained a nod to history with carefully chosen paint, classic wainscoting, and period-appropriate wallpapers, ensuring the duplex’s tradition stands tall amidst contemporary comfort. The highlight? The harmonious blend of old and new, exemplified in the master bathrooms’ fusion of vintage tile designs with state-of-the-art fixtures.
